From The Jewel Box #27

Our oldest son was commiserating over the fact that he lost a dice game and ended up with zero points. He sighed, “I’m such a dumb loser.” Our daughter, in an attempt to make him feel better said, “You’re just a loser, you’re not dumb.”

Rain Dance By Little Miss Walker

Our daughter loves ballet and has been practicing this dance for awhile. She was finally able to perform it last week… in the rain! The wind was pushing her around a bit so she was not as graceful as usual. Still, we are VERY proud of our little girl!

As always, we do not mention the names of our children on the internet. Any comment which does so will be deleted.

I was eating supper with the two older kids when our oldest son said, “I don’t like that song.” A veggie tales CD was playing in the background and the song which just came on was The Hokey Pokey. I asked, “Why don’t you like this song?”

It just doesn’t make any sense.

What about it doesn’t make sense?

Well, it never really tells you what it’s all about.

You know, he’s got a point…

Our oldest daughter recently lost her two front teeth. When I told her that she had a lisp, she asked the following question.

A few weeks ago one of my friend’s from our Sunday school class hosted a guys night out. We ate BBQ, played Texas Hold ‘em poker and played Rock Band until 1:00 in the morning. Out of the blue, our oldest son asked at breakfast this morning, “Daddy, you know that Man party you went to?”

I answered, “Yes.”

He asked, “Did you play hot potato there?”
