Doctrinal Contrast: Christianity and Jehovah’s Witnesses

March 20, 2007 4:19 pm / 3 Comments / Keith

This past Sunday I had the privilege of teaching on Jehovah’s Witnesses at Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio Texas. If you would like to listen to this presentation, follow this link. If you would like to have a copy of the outline that we went through, e-mail me and I’ll send it to you in a Word document.

Feel free to pass this along to any pastors you know who may be interested in having us speak in their Church. We love to equip congregations in areas that pastors just do not have time to delve into.

Top ten reasons to vote for a Mormon President

March 19, 2007 3:26 pm / 2 Comments / Keith

I received this from a friend of mine (Dave Roberts) who has ministered in Utah for a long, long time. Some of these will not make sense unless you know Mormonism pretty well.

Go, Mitt…

10) The National Cathedral could be renamed the National Tabernacle.

9) NASA could commission a satellite to ‘hie to Kolob.’

8) The Secret Service could be renamed the Sacred Service.

7) All official government prayers could include the phrase ‘that we all can get home safely.’

6) Napoleon Dynamite could get someone other than Pedro elected.

5) The President could not only explain things in Layman’s terms, but also Lemuel’s terms.

4) The President could issue pardons in exchange for 100% home teaching.

3) Not only could he pronounce ‘Nuclear’ but also ‘Mahonri Moriancumer’ and ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’

2) At his inauguration he would swear on the Bible ‘as far as it is translated correctly.’

1) Finally, a first family large enough to fill up the White House.

When grandmas go to jail for witnessing

March 14, 2007 3:32 am / Leave a Comment / Keith

WorldNetDaily has a very troubling article about “hate speech.” After reading it, I came up with a little syllogism that summarizes the article.

Hate Speech Logic
If hate is a crime
and God hates sin,
then God is a criminal.

How long will it be until Christianity is outlawed for preaching “hate?”

HappyXWitness.com

March 13, 2007 12:36 am / 2 Comments / Keith

First, let me apologize for not blogging for almost a month. We have some mighty big things in the works and at last I get to announce one of them.

Our web site now has a new section titled, “HappyXWitness.com.” If one were to type that url into their browser, it would take them to our normal web site where they would see a banner with a HappyXWitness logo. Click on that logo and enter the new section where you can read testimonies of former Jehovah’s Witnesses who are happy that they are out and that they know Jesus Christ personally. There is also a link to our support group for former JWs.

This section of our site is a work in progress and we have a long way to go, but let me focus on the exciting part of this project. As many of you know, every year JWs “celebrate” the “Lord’s Evening Meal.” This year it is on April 2nd. This is the only religious holiday in which JWs participate. Attendance at Kingdom Halls for this service is much like Christmas and Easter is for Christians. If you are associated with JWs in any way, and you could only make one meeting all year, this would be the meeting.

In an attempt to advertise our support group for former JWs, we have placed 10 banners like the one pictured in strategic locations near Kingdom Halls around San Antonio. Please join us in prayer for God to use the banners to reach former JWs and to use our support group to bring them to Himself.
