Birthdays With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder

Jehovah’s Witnesses can find a segue way for anything. One minute we are talking about politics and then the next minute we are talking about birthdays. The connection? The daily text from September 21st discusses the Watchtower’s twisted interpretation of John 15:19– “Because you are no part of the world, . . . on this account the world hates you.”

Earlier in the conversation, I had mentioned that my birthday was the day before our meeting. I wondered if he would bite and if he did, what he would say about it. I’ve talked with Jehovah’s Witnesses before about birthdays, but this would be different because I have a closer relationship with my Witness elder friend that I did with any of the other Witnesses who have spoken with me about this topic. Happy 6th Birthday!

Happy birthday son! Our little boy is already six years old! We had a great day on the 21st as Mommy “built” a special birthday cake for our son. Becky lets the kids pick a cake out of a cake book that they would like her to make. Our son wanted a castle cake so Becky “built” it for him. Since the castle is green, we pretended that Shrek lived there and we ate his house.

Happy Birthday Big Girl!

Our oldest child turned seven yesterday. We had family over for presents, cake and ice cream last night and had a party with her friends at Chuck E. Cheese’s Sunday night. Check out the slide-show and see if you can figure out her favorite color.

D-Day

Happy birthday son! We had our third child this morning and he is a great looking kid. As is our custom, we will not mention our children’s names on the internet, but we do have a few pictures to share. Mom and baby are doing fine. I’ve got a lot of thoughts running through my mind right now, but most of it is fuzzy. I’ve been up since 4:00 this morning and need to get to sleep.

Our Son’s Fifth Birthday!

It is hard to believe that today is our son’s fifth birthday. We spent the day doing pretty much whatever he wanted to do. This morning we went to Chuck E. Cheese’s and played a bunch of games. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a Chuck E. Cheese’s was a thing called Mad Wave Motion Theater. It is so cool that I don’t want to describe it to you. I’d rather have you see it for yourself. Here is a video clip of it.

As you can see, the kids had fun and the “ride” is awesome. One token is good for two people and there are six different courses to choose from. Our kids rode four of them.

For supper he had whatever he wanted to eat; Mac-n-cheese, salad and chicken nuggets. We had the grandparents over for gifts, cake and ice cream. He received tons of toys and was so excited that he was having a hard time controlling himself when we put him down for bed. I told him, “Son, the sooner you calm down, the sooner you will be able to go to sleep. The sooner you go to sleep, the sooner it will be time to wake up. When you wake up, you can play with all of your new toys.” He then said, “But only after I read my Bible.” That was the best part of my day.
