Truth Be Told On The Big Screen In Austin, Texas

February 18, 2014 3:07 pm / 2 Comments / Keith

Truth Be ToldATTENTION AUSTIN, SAN ANTONIO, DFW & HOUSTON…

TRUTH BE TOLD lifts the veil on the seemingly benign Jehovah’s Witnesses religion to expose a profit-driven, isolationist culture characterized by fear, totalitarian corporate leadership, intellectual & spiritual intimidation, suspension of critical thinking, failed prophecies, doctrinal inconsistency and improper handling of physical and sexual abuse allegations within the church. See former Jehovah’s Witnesses candidly discuss growing up inside the religion. They reveal experiences including the effects of proselytizing door-to-door, shunning non-observant family and friends, suffering the discouragement of pursuing dreams like gaining a higher education, missing other societal holidays and customs. The Messiah With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder

Jesus Christ is Messiah

I have been wondering all week about today’s meeting. Since we were scheduled to read through chapter four in the Teach book, titled, “Who Is Jesus Christ?,” I knew our meeting could potentially get heated. Each of the three times my Jehovah’s Witness elder friend has threatened to discontinue our conversations, it was when we were talking about the deity of Christ.

When I arrived at the restaurant, JW2 was there with my elder friend. The three of us talked about the upcoming Super bowl, the San Antonio Spurs and a number of other things. I sensed that JW2 was enjoying himself, but JW1 was stalling. I don’t think he wanted to get our conversation going because of the topic. You know how when you really don’t want to talk about something, but you know you have to, you just jump right into it to get it over with? That happened. It looked sort of like this. Read More →

Conversations With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder

Do you see that up there? There is something new on our blog right above and to the left of my hat in the banner image. Nope, not in the image itself, but in the black bar at the top of the screen. Yes, at the top of the screen, opposite from the Search field. THERE it is! Conversations With JW Elder. I created a new page for our blog which organizes my “Conversations With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder” in the order in which they occurred.

The series, “A Conversation With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder” is by far the most popular posts on our blog. When people ask me how I witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses, I regularly point them to this series. All of the posts can be found by a tag in the column on the right side of the blog, but unfortunately the posts are ordered from newest to oldest. We have created this page in order to accommodate those who want to read the conversation from the beginning. The first link is when I met my Jehovah’s Witness elder friend at the annual Memorial of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2013. The rest of the links are in order chronologically.

I hope this will be helpful for our readers. Feel free to share this blog with anyone you think would benefit from reading it.

Jehovah’s Memory With A Jehovah’s Witness Elder

Makes you feel special, doesn’t it?

My Jehovah’s Witness elder friend walked into the restaurant with JW#2. It has been so long since I’ve seen him, I was wondering if JW#1 was purposefully not inviting JW#2 because he wanted to protect him from me. I am sure that is part of the reason, but the other part is JW#2 had some personal issues which kept him away also. JW#2 didn’t participate much in the discussion, but it was good to see him again. We all got caught up with each other for about half an hour and then JW#1 summarized our last discussion to JW#2 so he had an idea what we talked about last time.

JW1: We talked about exercising faith. We agreed that we have to have a strong faith, that is what saves, but we have to have it reflect our works too. Your faith is so strong that is shows in good works.

I couldn’t believe he said that. Last week he said nothing of the sort. We agreed that faith is important, but disagreed on the importance of works. Today, he made it sound like we were in complete agreement. I had to clarify. Read More →
