Because of Halloween, there were some things I wanted to ask my Jehovah’s Witness friend. I expected the conversation to go in one direction, but it took a completely different course. Instead of waiting for my friend to start the religious discussion, I took the initiative.
KW: What do you guys do for Halloween?
JW: Nothing.
KW: Nothing? So when you’ve got trick-or-treaters coming to your door, what do you do?
JW: (Smiling) We just say we don’t do Halloween and that’s it.
KW: Hmmm. Ok. I imagine you go door to door though, right? Because of your ministry work?

Today started quickly. Both of the Witnesses arrived before I did and were already seated. I walked into the restaurant and before I could even sit down, my Jehovah’s Witness friend pointed to a book sitting on the table in front of my spot. The book is titled, “The Bible- God’s Word or Man’s?”

This is the second presentation I did at LeTourneau University on Jehovah’s Witnesses. Even though it was titled, “How To Witness To Jehovah’s Witnesses, it probably should have been titled, “How To Treat Jehovah’s Witnesses.” Most Christians are looking for a “silver bullet” verse, yet completely forget what the Bible says about how we should treat unbelievers. Although I do give a couple of examples of how to use the Bible to get a Witness to think, I spend the majority of this presentation explaining how we should respond to Jehovah’s Witnesses when they come to our door. There is also a good Q&A session afterwards. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
