Former Mormon Missionary Prepares to Meet with Jehovah’s Witnesses

What do you get when you teach a former Mormon missionary how to witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses? Fun. You get fun!

One of Keith’s ministry responsibilities is one-on-one coaching of Christians who want to learn how to witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses. This is usually done over the phone or in person. While this is helpful for individuals, we have decided to Zoom record some of these conversations in order to multiply these efforts and reach a greater audience. With more than 30 years of experience in witnessing to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Keith is eager to share many practical tips and suggestions he has learned along the way.

Conversations with Jehovah’s Witnesses in Public Places

Last week I talked to three JW ladies who were in a public place. JWA, JWV, and JWP. I think I’ve seen JWP before, but I’m not sure. She wasn’t able to come this week and I was glad. They go to a Kingdom Hall where I am known, so there is a high probability we’ve seen each other before.

JWA is my favorite. I don’t know why, but I connected well with her. She has this sly grin when I make a point she understands but isn’t comfortable with the obvious conclusion. I wasn’t prepared to take notes and I made some nice points.  I wish I could remember exactly how I worded them. We talked for roughly 90 minutes and set up another appointment for the same time next week. That was today.

I arrived at the public place right about the same time they did. This time, there were four of them. JWA and& JWV from last week and an older man named JWS. Another lady showed up 30 minutes through our discussion. Her name is JWB. JWS took the lead as we went through the book we started last week (Enjoy Life Forever!). He began to explain it before we got started.

“Spirited” Mormon cowboy talks with Keith Walker of Evidence Ministries.

I once had a very “spirited” conversation with a Mormon cowboy during one of our mission trips to Manti, Utah. I guarantee you that within five minutes of our conversation, you will wonder where I got my TREMENDOUS patience. I wonder too because I don’t have any. I wish God would give it to me, now. Instead He keeps giving me opportunities to develop patience. This was one of those times.

Regardless, this is one of my all-time favorite conversations with a Mormon. They are much better than the conversations with Mormons who courteously lie to your face. Thankfully, most Mormons aren’t like that. Most Mormons aren’t like THIS guy either. Give me an honest, angry Mormon any day.

This is a perfect example of how God graciously uses someone like me despite my weakness. All praise and Glory to Him!

Ex-Mormon Missionary Reacts to the Jehovah’s Witness Memorial.

My EX-Mormon friend Michael visited the Jehovah’s Witness Memorial for the first time. If you aren’t interested in watching the whole video, at least watch the first minute and a half. I can’t even think about it without laughing.

Jehovah’s Witness Memorial Report 4/12/2025

As is my custom (20+ years), I attended the annual Memorial of Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW). Once a year the Witnesses celebrate what most Christians refer to as communion. I’ll give a short summary of what usually happens at this ceremony and then will describe the events of the evening.

Since this is the only religious holiday Jehovah’s Witnesses celebrate, attendance at Kingdom Halls for this service is much like Christmas and Easter is for Christians. If you are associated with the Witnesses in any way, and you could only make one meeting all year, this would be the meeting. Parking lots are usually filled, and everyone wears their Sunday best. The service starts just after sunset. Since there is limited space at Kingdom Halls, sometimes they will rent out public halls or hotel conference rooms. They also have a later meeting at 9:00 to accommodate everyone who wants to attend.
