In April of this year, the Mormon Church revised its temple recommend questions in order to be more clear that there is no room for personal interpretation on garments. They are to be worn “day and night throughout your life.”
Temple garments, worn under all other clothing, including normal underwear, are viewed as a sacred obligation for temple worthy Mormons. Before members are granted access to the temple, they must successfully pass a temple recommend interview by a local leader. Members are asked numerous questions about their personal worthiness to enter a temple. Now a new revised statement will be read to every recommend seeker. It says in part, “The garment of the holy priesthood reminds us of the veil in the temple, and that veil is symbolic of Jesus Christ. When you put on your garment, you put on a sacred symbol of Jesus Christ.”
This is a curious statement in the light of the fact that immediately after the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, the temple veil was split in two. “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.” (Matthew 27:50-51). The veil in the temple separated the presence of God in the Holy of Holies from the rest of the temple. Only the high priest could pass through the veil once a year to offer sacrifice to God.
Hebrews 9:6-8 says, “These preparations having thus been made, the priests go regularly into the first section, performing their ritual duties, but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the unintentional sins of the people. By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the holy places is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing.” If the veil signified separation between God and men prior to the death of Jesus, what is indicated when the temple veil was torn apart? First Timothy 2:5 answers that question. “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Since Jesus himself is our sacrifice and mediator between Man and God, there is no longer a need for the temple system of blood sacrifice. Acts 17:24 says, “The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man”. God no longer resides in the Holy of Holies, the temple veil has been torn down, so no longer does a high priest need to pass through the veil to offer blood on our behalf.
Taking all of this into consideration, how can a Church claiming to be Jesus’ one true Church say that “the veil is symbolic of Jesus Christ?” This would mean that Mormonism has symbolically stitched up the veil and hung it back up. Jesus would now be a barrier between us and God, not the point of entry. No where in scripture is Jesus ever said to be hindrance in approaching God. He is the way to God.

Jesus is the Way.
In OT times, the high priest passed through the veil (symbolic of the Way) in order to enter the symbolic presence of God.
When the veil was torn in two in the NT, we are not told that the veil fell. Today in our temples, the veil is constructed in a split fashion so that all of us can pass through it (still symbolic of Jesus Christ being the Way) to in order to enter the symbolic presence of God.
The point isn’t whether or not the veil fell, it is that the barrier has been removed. That’s one part of the problem with the Mormon view of salvation. There is a difference before the temple veil being torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51), and ripping a hole in it.
Hello! I created that Phony Moroni Mormon Jesus wearing temple garments! Thanks for using my work.
BTW,,, I have a pretty funny upgrade of that meme and MANY other Mormon & Freemason memes if you might ever need another. I can also create a specific meme for you. Just contact me on Facebook at Johnny-Michael Vice
